Schwinn Volare 1977

In 1977 Schwinn execs decided to give that new Dura-Ace stuff a try. Schwinn was a little slow to pick up on things of true value. The Volare was produced for only 2 years as a more affordable alternative to the increasingly expensive Paramount. So Panasonic put their most talented builders on the project. This is what they came up with, a rolling jewel that became an obsession for me for over 30 years till I found one in this condition with 8 documented miles ridden.

More Info:
The Volare is an obscure model that many Schwinn fans never heard of much less seen. I'm fortunate enough to have seen one new in a local shop and was put off by the name only because of an annoying TV commercial aired by Chrysler/ Plymouth Corp. advertising a dull automobile around the same time frame. It is an exquisitely beautiful bicycle .I'm seeing an increasing awareness of this obscure model along with increasing (X4$) of what I paid on Ebay.

Thank You, Last year I rode 2 centuries on it under bright sunny skies. It is jeweled rolling eye candy and attracts attention whenever ridden. One of my favorite long sought after's.

Nice, light 531 tube, the bike color with the slight hue variation to the tires is my vision of Schwinn. A favorite.
