1986 Centurion Cavaletto Mixte

Souped up to meet modern needs. Built up for a friend.

Frame:
Tange Infinity steel mixte frame, lugged. Built for nutted calipers and converted to recessed nut.

Fork/Headset:
Lugged steel fork / Tange steel headset. Fork drilled out at rear to accept recessed nut caliper.

Crankset/Bottom Bracket:
Shimano 5603 (105) compact triple crankset. / Hollowtech II bottom bracket, 68mm English threaded.

Pedals:
Flat pedals

Drivetrain/Cog/Chainring/Chain:
11-28 10-speed rear cassette / 50/40/30 chain rings. Shimano 6701 chain.

Derailleurs/Shifters:
Shimano RD-5603 GS rear derailleur, Shimano FD-5703 front derailler, Shimano SL-R770 flat bar road shifters.

Handlebars/Stem:
Steel upright bars, Nitto Young stem (22.2 to 25.4)

Saddle/Seatpost:
Schwinn cruiser saddle / Uno 26.4 seat post alloy. It's ugly but it works.

Brakes:
Cane Creek long-reach recessed nut calipers. Front caliper mounted on the rear lower brake bridge using nuts. Rear caliper mounted on the front using a long recessed nut.

Front Wheel/Hub/Tire:
FSA RD400 road wheel / Panasonic Tourer II tire 700x32

Rear Wheel/Hub/Tire:
FSA RD400 road wheel / Panasonic Tourer II tire 700x32

Accessories:
Planet bike cage. Knog bell. Bontrager MTB grips. Jagwire cable housing and cables.

More Info:
Had to re-route the rear brake cable to work with a top pull caliper. Had to add a cable housing on FD cable between cable stop on the frame and the FD. Tedious built with many obstacles.
