Katakura Silk Pista

I love track bikes. To me, they are the essence of a bicycle in its absolute simplest form. Track bikes showcase the beauty of the frames and look so elegant just sitting still. Track bikes have kept their simple form, and remain virtually unchanged since the late 1800s. I picked up this lovely Katakura Silk Pista from @mylittlebikeshop a few weeks back, and it has been on display in my living room since. It is fillet braised, and has a lovely patina to the paint. The chrome is still brilliant, and the bi-plane fork crown really sets this one apart! This bike was made in Japan in the 1970s, and is fitted with pre NJS, BIA components. Has a classy Nitto steel stem holding bull horn bars, and has upgraded Mavic clincher rims with Sunshine BIA hubs. It is a 52cm frame size. And it's for sale!! $950
