More Info:
I just finished this 1971? Super Mondia (Serial # 165289). It is inspired by a Super Mondia I rode back in the early 1980s. The Mondia I rode (just once) back then was not equipped with the usual Campy NR. The owner opted instead to build the bike with Suntour Cyclone. I was skeptical about his choice until I rode it. The owner bought the frame and components from Bikeology in the 1970s. The result was an excellent ride. I purchased my Mondia frame some years ago. I stripped it to bare metal and so it sat for a few years. Sometime in its past, the frame had brazeons added and the fork steerer tube replaced with an ISO standard 25.4 cm. This is fine by me as my bikes are not show or museum pieces. In fact, before the first ride, I already put a scratch in it; first of many I suppose. I opted for a conservative paint scheme, not the Mondia fade away look.
