Sometimes it happends that you see a trackbike online for sale. And it catches your attention. In the case of this Duell trackbike it was actually the Campagnolo C record crankset. Which a friend ask me to find for him. And then another friend was looking for a 58-60cm frameset. So i thought ok lets call the seller and make an appointment. I assumed based on the bit vague online pictures in the sale add, that the frame was aluminium with a carbon fork. After arriving by the seller and seeing the bike, the first thing i realised that it was made from steel!! And then it only got better, It turned out this frame is made for Dutch track cylist Wilco Zuijderwijk. And what a coincedence, i happen to have a prototype Koga trackframe from Wilco :) . Which is my perfect size, seeing this Duell i knew i had found something special. . The frame is handbuilt by Jan van Dalen. And he made the frame for Wilco Zuijderwijk to compete in the Rotterdam 6days in 2005. Frame is made with Dedacciai COM 12.5 steel tubing which was launched in the late 1990s with the name 18MCDV6 – the code for the steel alloy. For more info on Duell. See also the website of Duell. A special frame with a very sharp geometry. . . Now that i picked up the Duell i pretty soon realised that i cannot sell the frame to the friend that was looking for a frameset. This Duell will stay in my collection :) . . Currently found with a mix of parts. The crankset will go to a friend. And i will decide in a later stage how i will build up this very nice steel Duell performance trackbike. . . 58,5cm center center 60,5cm center top 58cm top tube.
